Game Rules FAQ

Have questions after reading the rules or getting banned? This guide answers common concerns and helps you avoid accidental violations.

### **Can someone else play on the same device as me?**

Yes, but follow these rules:

- **Resource limits** for raiding/sending apply automatically.

- **Never share passwords**, even with family. Use a unique password that others don’t know or might guess (e.g., pet names, birthdays).

- **Don’t save passwords** in the browser. This is treated the same as sharing.

- **Always log out** when switching users.

- Use the **sitter feature** if you want to help another player.

### **Can someone else play on the same Wi-Fi/network?**

Yes. A shared IP address alone is not the stated basis for a multi-accounting violation. However, your Internet Service Provider may reuse the same IPv4 address among different users, especially with mobile data, public Wi‑Fi, or a VPN. Another player may have used the same IP address within the previous 14 days. Travian cannot control which IP address your provider assigns, and a same-IP restriction cannot be bypassed from within the game. If a shared IP causes ongoing restrictions, contacting or changing your Internet provider may be necessary. However, accounts may be treated as belonging to the same person when they are accessed directly from the same device or registered with the same email address, including different domains. Each household member should use only their own account and never access another person’s account. A minor may play, but a parent or guardian may not register or help operate the minor’s account if they already have an account on that game server or play on it; being under 18 does not create an exception.

- Resource limits are automatically applied.

-   Never share passwords.

- Use the sitter function to help others.

### **I was banned for password sharing, but we never used the password.**

You can be banned just for sharing or requesting a password. This alone violates the rules—even if the password wasn’t used.

* * *

### **Why was I banned for multi-accounting if a friend gave me their avatar?**

Each player may only own and play one avatar per gameworld. Playing on another via password—even with permission—is multi-accounting. Different payment cards or separate gold purchases do not establish different ownership; the one-avatar-per-player rule applies regardless of payment method, even if the same person accessed both accounts accidentally.

- Use the **sitter feature** instead.

- Don’t register avatars for friends; they must create their own via the Lobby.

### **Playing as or with a dual**

- Invite duals through the **Lobby**. They must accept via their own account.

- **Never share your Lobby password**.

**Changing avatars as a dual:**

- Cancel from the current avatar, then accept a new invite.

- Don’t switch avatars back and forth—it’s considered abuse.

### **Deleting or changing your avatar**

- **Delete your avatar yourself** via Options > Avatar > Delete avatar.

- Want to start fresh? Use the **abandon avatar** option.

- Use only one Lobby account per game world. Registering a second account is already a rule violation, even if it remains unused or has no development. To play a different avatar on the same gameworld, use the in-game Abandon avatar or Respawn option instead of creating a new Lobby account. Creating another account may result in a ban or penalty.

### **Browser and Addons**

- You may use **addons** if they don’t change, automate, or interact with the game.

- Supported browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, Safari. Others may risk automation.

-   Use only **unmodified browsers**.

### **I got resources from a bot or multi-account, but didn’t know**

Even if unintentional, gaining an advantage from bots, multi accounts, or sellers breaks the rules. Penalties still apply.

* * *

### **I was banned for selling/buying an avatar, but it was just a message**

Messages about selling/buying avatars are considered violations. Don’t joke or mislead others with such messages.

* * *

### **Private Farms**

We prohibit **private farms** (avatars existing to benefit others) outside alliances/confederacies.

- Creating villages to be conquered or raided by outsiders violates this rule.

- Punishment applies to both the farm and the raiders.

* * *

### **Can I raid or conquer within my alliance/confederacy?**

Yes:

- **Raiding** is limited by automatic pushing protection.

- **Conquering** is allowed if players enable it in their **residence settings**.

* * *

### **What if someone leaves the alliance/confederacy?**

Once outside, pushing limits no longer apply. Raiding them may be seen as farming—this is a violation, even if they left temporarily.

* * *

### **Is raiding inactive players allowed?**

Yes. Inactives are fair game and not considered private farms.

* * *

### **What if I’m just farming a bad player?**

We can tell the difference. Don’t worry—we won’t punish normal gameplay.

* * *

### **I have no alliance. Does Rule 1.1.b. still apply?**

Yes. Even without an alliance, you cannot be or use a private farm.

* * *

### **Why was I banned for farming a confederacy member’s private farm?**

If multiple confederacy members raid the same private farm, all may be penalized—whether it’s for individuals or alliances.

* * *

### **My dual/sitter broke the rules. Why am I punished?**

You're responsible for your duals' actions, even if you didn't know they were violating the rules. Both the avatar and the sitter/dual can be punished. Illegal dual arrangements, including sharing a Lobby password, can result in a ban. Each dual must be added through their own Lobby account. Duals and sitters must disable any program or tool that could violate the game rules, even if it is advertised as safe.

Only trust **reliable** people with access.

* * *

### **Why did my friend get a different penalty?**

Punishments vary based on severity and history of violations.
