# Sitters and Duals

Sitters and Duals

You can’t always be online — and in Travian, every hour matters. That’s where **Sitters** and **Duals** come in. They let trusted players help manage your avatar when you’re away. But be careful: they gain significant control, so only assign people you fully trust.

## Duals vs. Sitters — What’s the Difference?

**Duals**

- A dual is someone who does **not** already play on that gameworld.

- They join your avatar through the **Lobby** and can do **everything you can do**.

- You can have multiple duals.

- Each dual must have their own Lobby account.

**Sitters**

- A sitter is another **active avatar** in your alliance or confederacy.

- They log in to your avatar from their own account.

- You can set restrictions on what they can do (e.g., send raids, use resources, buy Gold, etc.).

- Maximum: **2 sitters** per avatar.

**Never share your password or Lobby password with duals or sitters. If you have already shared your account password, change it to remove their access, then have the other player set up their own Lobby account and add them as a dual. Each dual must be added through their own Lobby account; sharing a Lobby password with an unregistered dual may be treated as an illegal dual. Check with all duals and sitters that they have disabled any program, tool, or bot that may violate the game rules, even if it is advertised as safe or permitted. Always add them through the official system.**

## Adding a Sitter

1. Go to **Preferences** → **Sitter tab**.

2. Enter the player’s name.

3. Set permissions (what actions they are allowed to do).

4. Sitters can log in via the **Sitters button** (top right corner of the game screen).

**Important:** If you give a sitter “Buy and Spend Gold” permission, they can spend unlimited Gold. Refunds cannot be issued for Gold spent by sitters.

## Sitter Restrictions & Inactivity Allowance

- Every avatar starts with **14 days of owner inactivity allowance**.

- How it works:

    - If only **you** (owner) are active → +1 day

    - If **you and sitter** are active → +1 day

    - If only **sitter** is active → –1 day

    - If **nobody** is active → no change

- Maximum allowance is 14 days.

- When allowance hits **0**, sitter access is revoked.

- At 3 days left, a warning message appears.

## Dual Management

- Duals are added and managed directly in the **Lobby** (no password sharing needed).

- You and your dual must both have Lobby accounts.

- There is **no limit** on the number of duals.

- A dual can only play on **one avatar** per gameworld.

- Dual activity counts as owner activity (unlike sitters, they don’t reduce inactivity allowance).

**Adding a Dual:**

1. Owner invites a player in the Lobby (using their full Lobby account name).

2. The invited player accepts the request.

**Removing a Dual:**

- Works the same way in the Lobby.

- Duals can also remove themselves anytime.

## Quick Tips for Safe Use

- **Trust first:** Only assign sitters/duals you know well. They have huge influence over your avatar.

- **Restrict permissions:** Give sitters only the rights they truly need.

- **Use duals for teamwork:** Great if you want to share full control with a reliable friend.

- **Use sitters for backup:** Best if you just need help covering short absences.

**Remember:** Sitters and duals are powerful tools to keep your avatar active — but they also carry risks. Use them wisely, and always stay in control of your account.
