Construction in Travian: Legends follows a consistent set of rules, but as the game is complex, some details of how this works may not be immediately clear. This article covers the most important things to understand about how buildings work.
Maximum Levels
Most buildings can be upgraded to a maximum of level 20. Notable exceptions include the Cranny (maximum level 10) and resource-boosting buildings such as the Grain Mill (maximum level 5). Resource fields follow their own rules: in regular villages the maximum level is 10, cities allow up to level 12, and capital villages have no hard limit — although above certain level it’s simply not possible to store as much resources in the village as required for another upgrade.
What Happens When You Demolish a Building
Demolishing a building generally removes its effect immediately. However, there are important exceptions. Any started and ongoing orders usually continued until it is finished, even after the building was demolished. For example, this affects troop training, research in Academy or Smithy upgrades. Similarly, the duration of the order is not affected by the change in the building level. So even though Barracks at higher level train troops faster, improving (or lowering) the level does not affect the already ongoing training.
Building Requirements
Every building has prerequisites. Barracks, for example, require a Rally Point at level 1 or higher and a Main Building at level 3 or higher. Once those conditions are met, Barracks can be built on any free building site — simply switch to the military tab when selecting a plot.
Some buildings have more special conditions: they may only be built in the capital village (like Stonemason), or they require that some other building is not in the village (there may only be one of the administrative buildings — Residence, Palace or Command Center in the village)
Roman Construction Bonus
Romans can build two things simultaneously by default: one in the village center and one in the resource fields. No special action is needed to enable this. With a Plus Account active, a third order can be queued — though this third order only begins processing once one of the first two is complete.
Ad-Boosted Construction
Watching an ad to speed up construction applies a 25% reduction to the building time of that specific upgrade. The discounted time is shown to you before you confirm, so you can see exactly how long it will take. For example, a 4-hour upgrade becomes 3 hours.
Buildings That Do Not Exist
A few buildings that players sometimes ask about simply do not exist in Travian: Legends: there is no Tavern, no Secret Warehouse, and no Forge building. Item crafting on game worlds that support it is handled through the crafting tab within the hero's screen, not through a dedicated building.
