# Hiding Resources & Cranny

Hiding Resources & Cranny

When your village is attacked or raided, protecting your resources becomes important. A **Cranny** helps safeguard part of your stored resources from being stolen. It is recommended to build a Cranny before your **Beginners Protection** ends and to upgrade it so it covers the amount of resources you normally hold, especially resources accumulated overnight.

- At **level 1**, a Cranny hides **200 of each resource** (or **300** for Gauls).

- At **level 10**, it hides **2000** (or **3000** for Gauls).

- After upgrading a Cranny to level 10, you can **build additional Crannies** in the same village. There is **no limit** to how many you can add.

Crannies are hidden structures and **cannot be targeted directly** by catapults. They can only be destroyed if an attacker targets a **random building**, which may hit the Cranny by chance.

## **Tribe-Specific Effects**

### **Teutons**

If a Teuton hero accompanies raiding troops, the Cranny in the target village protects only **80%** of its usual capacity.

### **Gauls**

Gauls hide **1.5 times more resources** in their Crannies compared to other tribes.

## **Additional Information**

### **Hero Inventory**

Resources stored in the hero’s inventory **cannot be raided**.

### **Marketplace**

Resources placed for sale in the Marketplace **can be raided** until merchants leave to complete the trade.

### **Hero Item Boost**

The **Bag of Plunder** hero item increases the amount of resources that **can be raided** from any village.

In the table below you can find the construction costs and time, as well as the capacity on each level of the cranny.
