## 3\. The Smithy

The **Smithy** improves the weapons and armor of your units.

- Each upgrade increases the **combat efficiency** of a troop type.

- The higher the **Smithy level**, the more you can improve your units.

- The improvement level is **specific to the village** where the Smithy is located.

### Key Details

- Upgrades apply to **all units of that type trained in the same village**.

- Units trained in another village are **not affected**.

- The **effect strength** depends on the **unit’s crop consumption** — higher-upkeep units gain a larger improvement per upgrade level.

- When **troop merging** is enabled, merged units inherit the **upgrade level** of the **village they are moved to**.

**Tip:**
Always keep upgrading your Smithy as your army grows. Even small improvements across many troops add up to a massive difference in battle outcomes.
