# Village Destruction

Village Destruction

Villages in **Travian: Legends** can be completely destroyed through sustained attacks that reduce their **population to zero**. When this happens, the process is often called **“zeroing”** a village.

* * *

### What Is “Zeroing”?

A village is considered _zeroed_ when its **population reaches 0**.
This is achieved by destroying all **buildings**, **fields**, and **walls** using **catapults** and **rams**.

Once a village’s population hits zero, it usually **disappears from the map** and turns into an **abandoned valley**, which can then be **resettled**.

However, there are exceptions. A village **cannot be destroyed** if it is:

- A **World Wonder village** ([World Wonder](https://support.travian.com/articles/103))

- A village **holding an artefact** that has not been stolen ([Artefacts](https://support.travian.com/articles/101))

- The **player’s last remaining village** (excluding World Wonder villages and 18-croppers)

Destroying nearby rival villages is often a strategic move to **clear space for expansion** or **reduce enemy influence**.

### How to Destroy a Village

1. **Use Catapults** to demolish buildings and resource fields.

2. **Use Rams** to destroy the walls protecting the village.

3. Continue attacking until **all structures are destroyed** and **population reaches zero**.

### How to Prevent Village Destruction

You can reduce the risk of your village being destroyed by:

- **Building as many population-giving structures as possible.**
This increases total population and makes it harder for attackers to zero your village.

- **Constructing a Stonemason’s House** (if your village is the **capital**).
This building improves the **durability** of all other structures.

- This is especially important when settling in the **Grey Area (Natars zone)** on normal servers, where **Natar attacks** occur frequently.

### What Happens to Zeroed Villages That Cannot Be Destroyed?

If the zeroed village is:

- The player’s **last (non–World Wonder)** village:

    - All troops are killed when population reaches zero, even if Troop Evasion was enabled or the troops were stationed elsewhere, such as in an oasis.

    - **Troops in training queues** continue to train and are not removed.

- A village with an **artefact still present:**

    - The **village and its troops** remain until the artefact is **removed**.
