# Hospital and Asclepeion

Hospital and Asclepeion

The **Hospital** allows you to treat wounded troops so they can rejoin your army. This helps you recover faster after major battles. Healing troops is **not cheaper** than training new ones — the resource cost is the same — but healing takes **half the time** of normal training.

## **Wounded Troops**

When a village has a Hospital, **40% of its losses** in any battle return as wounded troops. This applies when:

- Attacking

- Defending

- Reinforcing another village

Important details:

- Bandages do **not** affect how many troops become wounded.

    - Example: If 100 troops die and your hero uses 33 bandages, **33 are saved**, and **40** return as wounded.

- Siege engines, settlers, administrators, and heroes **cannot** become wounded.

- Troops that die while escaping from traps do **not** become wounded.

- Only units from villages that **had a Hospital at the time of the battle** can become wounded.

- Wounded troops **cannot fight** and **do not consume crop**.

## **Healing Troops**

The Hospital has its own **healing queue**, similar to the Barracks or Stable.

- Healing costs the **same resources** as training the unit.

- Both infantry and cavalry use the **same queue**.

- Healing speed is **not** affected by:

    - Artefacts

    - Alliance Bonuses

    - Hero items

    - Roman Horse Drinking Trough

- Healing time depends on the **Hospital level**.

- The Hospital heals units **twice as fast** as training in Barracks or Stable of the same level.

### **Example**

- Barracks level 20 trains an Ash Warden in **80 seconds**.

- Hospital level 20 heals a wounded Ash Warden in **40 seconds**.

## **Wounded Decay**

Wounded units that are **not being healed** die gradually at a rate of **10% per day**.
As soon as a wounded unit enters the healing queue, it **stops decaying**.

## **Hospital Destruction and Conquest**

- If the Hospital is destroyed, the healing queue continues normally.

- Wounded troops continue decaying at the usual **10% per day**.

- If the Hospital is destroyed during a battle, no wounded troops from that battle are generated. All losses from the battle are final.

- If the village is **conquered**, all troops—including wounded—are wiped out.

## **Asclepeion (Spartan Only)**

The **Asclepeion** replaces the Hospital in **Spartan villages**.

It works the same as the Hospital with key differences:

- **60%** of battle losses return as wounded (instead of 40%).

- Easier to build due to **lower building requirements**.

- Produces **more Culture Points** than a Hospital.

In the tables below you can find the construction costs and time, as well the duration of healing for each level of the Hospital and Asclepeion.
