Most login and registration problems come from using a different sign-in method than the one you registered with, from browser data, or from the email address on the account. Start with the first checks below, then go to the section for your problem.
Read the error message. It usually tells you what's wrong, for example a mistyped email address or password.
Use the same sign-in method you registered with. Email and password, Google, Apple and Facebook are separate methods, and they aren't interchangeable. If you sign in a different way, you may end up in a different, new Lobby, and your game worlds seem to be missing.
Allow pop-ups in your browser if you sign in with Google, Apple or another social login, so the sign-in window can open.
Clear your browser data. Press Ctrl + Shift + Delete and clear the cache and browsing data for all time. Then try again, or try another browser.
Use a stable connection without a VPN or similar tools. They can stop the game from working properly.
Playing the same account on several of your own devices, for example the app on your phone and the browser on your PC, is allowed.
Fill in all mandatory fields and check whether an error message explains the problem.
Your Lobby name is made of a username and a tagline. If you already have an account, log in instead of registering again.
Clear your browser cache or try another browser. You can also register with a social login, such as Facebook or Google.
No activation email? Check your Spam folder, and make sure you entered the right email address.
The reCAPTCHA check is run by Google, not by the game, and it can't be bypassed. If it fails or doesn't appear:
Update your browser, and install the latest software and security updates on your device.
Jailbroken or otherwise modified devices can stop the reCAPTCHA from appearing.
Try another browser or another device.
Log in, open Account settings, select Change Password, enter your current password and then your new one, and click Save.
Open the password reset window and enter your registered email address. Use the address that is linked to your avatar. An address without an active avatar is the wrong one.
Check your inbox, and your Spam and Promotions folders, for the reset email.
Open the reset link in a browser, not in the app. If it opens the app, close the app completely, then copy the link into your browser's address bar, or long-press the button and choose Open in browser.
Set your new password and confirm the change. It only takes effect once you've confirmed it through the email.
Reopen the app and log in manually with your new password.
If something goes wrong:
The reset link sends you back to the login page: open it in a private (incognito) browser window and repeat the reset.
The link keeps opening the app: uninstall the app, reset your password in the browser, then reinstall the app.
"Unexpected error" or you can't log in after the reset: clear your browser data for all time, log in with another browser, or reset your password once more.
No reset email: try again, or contact Customer Service. If you no longer have access to that email address, Customer Service can't recover the account, so contact your email provider.
Accounts created with Sign in with Apple don't have a separate Travian email address or password, so you can't set or change one. To log in on any device, select the Apple icon on the login screen and sign in with your Apple ID. On non-Apple devices, allow pop-ups. If Apple sign-in still fails, clear your browser cache or try another browser or device. Apple controls this sign-in, so Travian can't fix Apple sign-in errors.
Log in at travian.com, click your name in the top right corner and open Account Settings. Your email address is shown there.
In Account Settings, select Change email and follow the instructions.
You need access to both your current and your new email address.
All avatars on your Lobby account move to the new address. Your progress, history and medals stay.
Accounts registered with Apple can't change their email address.
Your email address is proof that you own the account and its Gold, so Customer Service can't change it for you, not even if you entered a wrong address when registering. Contact your email provider or use its recovery tools. If you can't get the address back, it has to be considered lost, and you need a new Lobby with your new address for future game worlds.
"Device verification failed": this can happen if your phone's security features don't work properly, for example on rooted or jailbroken phones. Update the app and clear its cache. If that doesn't help, play in a browser at travian.com.
Can't connect on mobile data: try Wi-Fi. If the game works there, the problem is probably your mobile provider's network or DNS.
Mobile browsers aren't officially supported. Use the app. If you play in a mobile browser anyway, switching to the mobile browser version may work better.
Contact Customer Service from the email address registered to your account. For data-protection reasons, they can only discuss an account with that address. Describe the problem and include the exact error message.
Note: when a game world has ended, its data is deleted after a while and can't be recovered.
