The Keep Tribe on Conquer feature allows you to take advantage of multiple tribes’ strengths during a single game round. By conquering villages from different tribes, you can mix their unique advantages across your account—without being limited by your starting tribe’s weaknesses.
If you prefer sticking to one tribe or do not enjoy conquering, you can still ignore this feature completely. But if you want to use it strategically, the tips below will help you get the most out of it.
When playing with the Keep Tribe on Conquer feature, the only thing that remains permanently tied to your chosen tribe is your hero ability.
This makes your starting tribe decision very important.
Grants +3 speed for any mounted army (if the hero is mounted and no infantry accompanies the army).
This works with any tribe’s cavalry, not just Hun units.
Examples:
Resheph Chariots moving at speed 13 instead of 10
Druid Riders moving at speed 19 instead of 16
Excellent for players who value fast operations and quick reaction times.
+50% strength from Spartan weapon bonuses
Increased bonus when leading Spartan troops
Ideal if you plan to use Spartan units for powerful offense or defense.
If you are unsure which tribe to start with, choose the one you are most experienced and comfortable with.
Egyptians generally have the strongest early-game economy because of their hero resource bonus and Waterworks. Settling your second village as an Egyptian gives you a fast and stable start—especially if conquering early villages is not part of your plan.
However, remember:
You can still benefit from other tribes later through conquering.
Your starting tribe only defines your hero and initial development speed.
Experienced players use this feature to specialize villages based on the strengths of each tribe. Below are the most valuable tribe roles:
Excellent defensive villages (Phalanx + Druidrider synergy)
Trapper provides cheap population, useful on gameworlds where population matters (e.g., Annual Special)
Perfect for aggressive players
Brewery gives up to +20% attack to your entire account, even if the attacking army is not Teuton
Example: A Roman or Spartan hammer boosted by a Teuton Brewery
Very strong for late-game offense
Best resource village development thanks to double resource-building queue
Best villages for active spying operations
Strong, crop-efficient attacking armies
Best capitals due to Waterworks and extremely strong resource base
Solid defensive capabilities
Ideal for stable long-term economy
Elpida Riders: great universal cavalry
Shieldsmen: among the strongest infantry defense units
Sentinels: best stationary anti-scouts
Spartan attacking armies: very crop-efficient (though slower to train)
Best villages for conquering due to Command Centre
Great cavalry for farming
One of the best pure attacking tribes
The Keep Tribe on Conquer feature allows you to customize your account in unique ways:
Start with a tribe whose hero ability benefits your long-term goals.
Use conquering to gain villages from other tribes to optimize your economy, defense, or offensive power.
Specialize villages based on each tribe’s natural strengths.
With the right approach, this feature lets you build an account that combines the best aspects of several tribes—giving you a strategic edge throughout the game.
