Reign of Fire – Item Crafting

Introducing Item Crafting – A New Era Begins in Travian: Reign of Fire

With Travian: Reign of Fire, a powerful new feature arrives to redefine hero equipment and player strategy: Item Crafting. This brand-new system adds depth, progression, and strategic decision-making to how you manage your hero’s gear. Here’s everything you need to know.

A New Tab in the Hero Menu

Your hero now has access to a Crafting tab, available directly in the hero interface. From here, you can interact with the Forge, the central hub for three key actions:

Forge New Items – Craft powerful new equipment.

Smelt Existing Items – Recycle gear into a new resource called Material. Choose to receive 1 material instantly or 2 after a short waiting period.

Refine Items – Combine two identical items with material to upgrade them into a superior category.

The “Material” Resource

A brand-new resource, Material, is essential to the crafting process. It comes in all rarity tiers and is obtained through smelting or acquired via auction. Smelting an item of a certain rarity will provide you with material of the same rarity. Managing your stock becomes key to progression.

Qualities, Rarities, and Recipes

Crafting is governed by three tiers of item progression, unlocked as the gameworld ages: you are used to these as the green, blue and purple set of items. While the same principle will remain, the tiers will now be named “Qualities” and their level indicated by a numeral indicator (Quality 1, Quality 2 and Quality 3).

In addition to these qualities, items now have four rarity levels:

  • Common
  • Uncommon
  • Rare
  • Epic

All items (and materials) exist in these rarity categories, except Epic, which must be crafted.

Crafting Rules

  • To upgrade an item to a higher category:
    2 identical lower-category items + 1 matching material = 1 upgraded item
  • To craft a random item:
3 materials of the same rarity will be forged into a random item of the same category.

In total, 312 new items have been added to the game, accounting for all tribes.

Auction House Overhaul

To support the increased item flow, the Auction House has been reworked and will launch globally ahead of Reign of Fire. Expect faster browsing, better filtering, and smoother trading to keep up with the new volume of gear.

More Loot, More Power

Adventures have been reworked according to this new mechanic:

You now get twice the adventures upon start.

Availability will increase, according to a halved refresh rate.

Item drop rates have also been improved, to ensure players will benefit regularly from much-needed items.

Beyond the Annual Special?

Item Crafting will be exclusive to Reign of Fire at launch, but we’re keeping the door open. Depending on feedback, player perception, and rebalancing opportunities, the feature could expand to vanilla gameworlds in the future.

Prepare your hero. Arm your forge. And rise through the flames.

Travian: Reign of Fire is about to change everything.
