Discovering Map Features in Travian: Legends

The map in Travian: Legends offers many features that can give you an advantage if you know where to look. This guide will help you get the most out of the map by highlighting important details, navigation tips, and ways to organize your strategy.

Understanding Map Tiles

Each map tile has unique details that can help you identify its type:

  • Resource Tiles: Landscape features like trees or stacks can indicate resource distribution. For example, a 4-4-4-6 tile has two trees in opposite corners, while a 4-3-5-6 tile shows two stacks.

  • Croppers: 9- and 15-cropper tiles often look almost empty, but small markings reveal their type.

Knowing these differences can help you choose the best spots for expansion and resource collection.

How to Enter Coordinates

To quickly find a location:

  • Paste coordinates into either the X or Y entry field in the map window. The other field will automatically fill in, helping you avoid mistakes and find locations faster.

Navigation Shortcuts

You can move around the map efficiently using keyboard shortcuts:

  • G: Toggle the grid overlay on or off.

  • WASD or Arrow Keys: Move around the map.

  • M: Open or close the minimap.

  • O: Open or close the outline menu.

Using the Minimap

The minimap provides a quick overview of the world, showing village density and helping you navigate large areas. Open or close it by pressing M. You can hover over coordinates to select specific map areas for closer inspection.

The Outline Menu & Markers

The outline menu helps you organize and track locations:

  • Player Markers: Only you can see these. Use them for personal notes.

  • Alliance Markers: Everyone in your alliance can see these, making them great for team planning.

You can add markers by right-clicking on a map tile and choosing the marker type. Toggle visibility using the buttons at the top of the outline menu. Greyed-out buttons mean markers are hidden.

Marking Features

  • Mark Alliance: Outlines all villages and oases of a particular alliance.

  • Mark Player: Outlines villages and oases of a specific player.

  • Mark Field: Use flags to leave notes on tiles. Rectangular flags are private, triangle flags are visible to your alliance.

Keeping the Map Clear (Marker Etiquette)

To keep the map useful for everyone:

  • Remove Old Markers: Regularly review and delete outdated markers in the outline menu by clicking the cross next to them.

  • Avoid Clutter: Only add relevant markers to keep the map easy to read.

If you follow these steps, you’ll navigate and use the map more efficiently, helping you coordinate with your alliance and make smarter strategic decisions in Travian: Legends.
