Your hero plays a vital role in your early game progress — both for your economy and for securing your future capital. Managing your hero well can make the difference between a fast start and falling behind.
Why Your Hero Matters
In the early game, every hour counts. Losing your hero in an adventure or risky oasis raid can set you back for hours and delay your second village.
Because many players assign all their hero points into resource production at the start, keeping the hero alive is even more important.
If you want to secure a valuable cropper (a 15-crop village for your capital), make sure you follow an established development guide and manage your hero carefully.
Hero Resource Production
| Tribe | Resource Production per Point (x1 speed) | If Focused on One Resource | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| All (except Egyptians) | 9 resources of each type | 30 of the selected resource | +25% resource bonus applies |
| Egyptians | 12 resources of each type | 40 of the selected resource | +25% resource bonus applies |
Your hero’s resource production increases with game speed (e.g. x2, x3 worlds). Don’t forget that the 25% hero production bonus applies to these values too.
Hero Health Loss and Adventure Rewards
Early adventures can be risky. Sending your hero unprepared may lead to unnecessary losses.
Below you’ll find data (based on player tests) showing approximate health loss and timing of adventure rewards for heroes with 0 fighting strength:
| # | Normal Adventure | Hard Adventure | Reward | Appears (hours after start) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1–3% | 3–4% | Horse | Available from start |
| 2 | 2–4% | 4–8% | Resources | Available from start |
| 3 | 2–7% | 7–12% | Troops | Available from start |
| 4 | 3–9% | 9–16% | Silver | 0–8h |
| 5 | 3–11% | 11–20% | Ointment | 8–16h |
| 6 | 4–14% | 14–24% | Book of Wisdom | 16–24h |
| 7 | 4–16% | 16–28% | Resources | 24–32h |
| 8 | 4–18% | 18–32% | Silver | 32–40h |
| 9 | 5–21% | 21–36% | — | 40–48h |
| 10–15 | 5–34% | 23–54% | Various/Unknown | 48h+ |
(For speed gameworlds, divide the hours by the world speed — e.g. /2 for x2, /3 for x3.)
Adventure Item Drops
The items your hero can find in adventures depend on how far you are into the game:
| Adventure Range | Item Availability |
|---|---|
| 1–31 | No scrolls, no small or large bandages, no artworks |
| 32–61 | No large bandages |
| 62+ | All items possible |
Note: On Annual Special worlds, small bandages can rarely appear before adventure 31 (if the hero “switches” from finding a Natar Horn to bandages instead).
Starting Culture Points
| Game Speed | X1 | X2 | X3 | X5 | X10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starting Culture Points | 500 | 250 | 167 | 100 | 50 |
Townhall Level 1 Celebration Duration:

Key Tips for the Early Game Hero
Keep your hero alive — avoid sending them into dangerous adventures without ointments or enough health.
Prioritize resource production points early on, especially if your goal is a fast second village.
Use safe adventures first (low health loss) and collect early rewards like silver, ointments, and the horse.
Remember: every minute your hero is dead is lost production time.
Summary
Your hero is not just a fighter — they’re the backbone of your early economy.
To progress quickly:
Distribute points smartly into resource production.
Manage adventures carefully to avoid death.
Collect useful early rewards.
Use the gathered silver and items strategically.
Taking care of your hero means taking care of your entire account’s development — especially when aiming for a fast and efficient start in Travian: Legends.
