Conquering Villages
What you need before you start
To conquer a village, you must reduce its loyalty to 0% using your administrator(s).
This will only work if all of the following conditions are met:
The target village does not have an active administration building (Residence, Palace, or Command Center).
→ It is sufficient if the building is destroyed during the same attack. The village is not a capital.
The village is not the player’s last remaining village.
You have enough culture points to own an additional village
→ Not required when reconquering your own village. You send your administrator(s) with a normal attack, not a raid.
Your administrator(s) survive the battle.
Getting an administrator
Each tribe has its own administrator type with different strengths:
Roman Senator – reduces loyalty by 20–30%
Teuton Chief – reduces loyalty by 20–25%
Gaul Chieftain – reduces loyalty by 20–25% (faster)
Hun Logades – reduces loyalty by 15–30%
Egyptian Nomarch – reduces loyalty by 20–25%
Spartan Ephor – reduces loyalty by 20–25%
To train an administrator, you need:
Academy level 20
Administrator researched in the Academy
A suitable administration building:
Residence: level 10 or 20
Palace / Command Center: level 10, 15, or 20
Each of these can train 3 settlers or 1 administrator.
You also need at least one free expansion slot in that village.
How to conquer a village
Do not send everything in a single attack. Conquering works best in waves:
Clear the village
Send troops to eliminate defending forces.
Include catapults to destroy the Residence, Palace, or Command Center.
Must be a normal attack, otherwise catapults will not fire.
Lower loyalty
Send your administrator(s) with troops.
Optionally include catapults again to keep the administration building destroyed.
Must also be a normal attack, otherwise neither catapults nor administrators will work.
Repeat
Continue sending administrator waves until loyalty reaches 0%.
You can coordinate attacks from multiple villages or with allies.
If multiple attacks land at the same second, the one sent first will land first.
After a successful conquest
Once loyalty reaches 0%:
The administrator disappears.
The accompanying troops remain as defenders.
You should immediately:
Build a new administration building to restore loyalty.
Station defensive troops and scouts in the village.
Loyalty regeneration:
Loyalty increases by 2/3 of the administration building level per hour
→ Example: Level 6 building = +4 loyalty per hourYou can also increase loyalty using Tablets of Law.
What changes after conquest
When a village is conquered:
All troops belonging to that village are removed, including:
Reinforcements in other locations
Troops in transit
Queued units
The hero (if it was their home village)
The following are reset or removed:
Academy research
Smithy upgrades
Village wall
Tribe-specific buildings (e.g. Brewery, Trapper, Horse Drinking Trough)
Connected oases become independent
Incoming reinforcements:
If not from the same alliance/confederacy, they are sent back after 1 hour (or immediately upon arrival)
Important exceptions
If the conquered village is your own:
Buildings and levels remain
Wall is still removed
Research and troops are still removed
If the village is the same tribe as yours:
Tribe-specific buildings are not destroyed
On some special servers:
The village keeps its tribe → tribe buildings remain
If you conquer a village from a smaller account:
All buildings lose 1 level
Expansion slots:
Villages founded or conquered by that village still occupy its expansion slots
Key takeaway
To successfully conquer a village, focus on:
Removing the administration building
Using properly timed waves
Sending administrators with normal attacks
Repeating until loyalty reaches 0%
Rushing or combining everything into one attack will usually fail.
