Troops Speed Increase & Tournament Square

Troop movement speed in Travian: Legends can be improved in several ways.
Speed bonuses can come from hero items, artefacts, or the Tournament Square — and these bonuses can stack for even greater effects.

Ways to Increase Troop Speed

Pennants

  • Increases troop movement speed between your own villages by 30–50%.

  • The hero must travel with the troops for the bonus to apply.

Standards

  • Increases troop movement speed between alliance or confederation members by 15–25%.

  • Only applies if the hero accompanies the troops.

Boots

  • Increase troop movement speed after the first 20 fields of travel.

  • The bonus ranges between 25–75%, depending on the boots.

  • The hero must be traveling with the troops.

Artefacts

  • The Titan’s Boots artefact increases troop speed by:

    • 1.5× (large artefact)

    • (small or unique artefact)

Tournament Square

The Tournament Square is a special building that increases troop speed for long-distance travel.

  • The bonus applies after the first 20 fields of movement.

  • Each level increases troop speed by 20%.

  • At level 20, troops move at five times their base speed (a 500% total movement rate — 100% base + 400% bonus).

  • Prerequisite: Rally Point level 15

Multiple Bonuses

All troop speed bonuses stack but are applied in specific ways:

  • The Tournament Square and Boots bonuses are added together, and both only apply after the first 20 fields.

  • The total of those two is then multiplied with all other bonuses (such as artefacts, standards, or pennants).

Example Calculation

Bonus SourceEffectNotes
Boots of the Mercenary+25%After 20 fields
Tournament Square Level 10+200%After 20 fields
Artefact (Titan’s Boots, small)×2Always active
Standard+20%Always active

Calculation:

  • First 20 fields:
    Base speed × 2 (artefact) × 1.2 (Standard) = base speed × 2.4

  • After 20 fields:
    Base speed × 2 (artefact) × 1.2 (Standard) × (1 + 0.25 + 2.0)
    = base speed × 5.65

So, in this example, troops travel 2.4× faster for the first 20 fields and 5.65× faster after that.

Tips

  • Build the Tournament Square in your offensive or raiding villages to reduce long travel times.

  • Combine speed bonuses strategically — especially useful on large maps or during artefact wars.

  • Remember that short-distance movements (under 20 fields) are not affected by the Tournament Square or Boots bonuses.
